Introduction

Rick Dolphijn is interested in the body/sensitivity/sensuality/experience and the role of language, in Gilles Deleuze and his philosophy, in time and in space. Thus he lectures and writes on architecture, philosophy and food, on media theory, language theory and performance theory. At the moment he is most interested in concepts like 'meat', 'surface', and the aesthetic experience.

He is writing a book on the abovementioned concepts that is entitled (for now) "Aesthetic Vitalism: earth culture health". Next to that he is finishing a book together with dr. Iris van der Tuin on the philosophy of science, entitled: "New Materialism" (to be published with Open Humanities Press in the series New Metaphysics (ed by Bruno Latour and Graham Harman). He is assistant professor at the humanities department, Utrecht University, the Netherlands.

This website is not meant to function as a medium of expression but as a medium of relation, which means that it is an invitation to share thoughts. Comments, suggestions and other reactions in any form are therefore highly appreciated.
